Adidas Investments
So i noticed today that the Second overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft Robert Griffin III already has a commercial up and running representing Adidas. I must say that this athlete has not hit the field yet and already cashing in on his talent. I am not saying this is a bad thing, but I have come to realize that athlete are becoming their own stock of their own company within themselves. Adidas did another big investment signing Derrick Rose to 10-year $250 million contract. The funny thing is just like stock athletes are just as unpredictable as the stock exchange. It seems to me the biggest dividends are being paid to those who signed on the bottom line.

I totally agree with this athletes can be unpredictable but using these young talented celebrities has been proven to be effective. using a player like RGIII could boost Adidas sales tremendously. Even though he hasn't hit the field yet he has proven he is a worthy athlete who the fans are in love with.
ReplyDeleteIts amazing what some of these companies are willing to pay these athletes.D-Rose for 10 years at a quarter million...that's pretty outrageous man. The dude makes more money selling Adidas than he does playing ball. Funny thing is, look at Rose now. Torn ACL and out for the playoffs and his team went from favorites in the East to struggling to stay alive. As far as RG3 goes, good call Adidas. This man has the potential to be a superstar. Might as well sign them early before somebody else does, right?
